New Brand Alert: Maison Blanche

Fun Fact: I am a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated! November 3rd to November 5th, my beautiful line sisters and I celebrated this milestone during homecoming at our illustrious institution: North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University! There is no place like home ❤️ Homecoming at a Historically Black College / University (HBCU) brings together generations of HBCU students and alumni to connect, forge relationships and celebrate Black culture — past and present — at weeklong festivities. One of our events included a Gala. Each sister was assigned a monochromatic color to wear, or, in other words, dressing in one color from head-to-toe. The color chosen for me to wear was, yellow, a sacred color perceived as eternal, imperishable and indestructible in ancient times. Looking for an unexpected item to add a unique flare to my outfit, I came across the brand Maison Blanche. Designer Yannik Zamboni built this brand to address the gray area that often misplaces marginalized groups, especially those in the fashion industry. A visual interpretation of socio-political, gender and feminist issues are revolutionized with abnormal tailoring and strategic placement of shoulder x waist straps with coordinates, as to indicate a new direction of fashion. This designer is truly redefining how we experience clothing, and I can’t get enough of these pieces! I chose the Maison Blanche Cut-Through Jacket from this collection to compliment my outfit! This oversized jacket with strap detailing turned out to be the perfect outwear for my look, and I received so many compliments on this jacket. Take a look at how I styled this outfit, below.
